The problem with speed optimisation programs is that they often end up overclocking your system or interfering with hardware unnecessarily. Uniblue's SpeedUpMyPC3 tries to avoid this by focusing on key areas that can slow down your PC's performance - but does it pass the test? On the positive side, SpeedUpMyPC has the same easy to use interface that the rest of Uniblue’s products have. All of the search options results and actions are displayed clearly on the main screen and not hidden away in menus. The main screen also has 4 tabs.

The Overview tab shows the results of the last scan and a speedometer showing the optimisation level of the three areas SpeedUpMyPC focuses on - Memory, CPU and Internet Usage. The main window also features 3 additional tabs - Optimisation, Clean Up and Settings. The optimisation tab features graphs which display the minute-by-minute performance levels of your Memory, CPU and Hard Disk performance. It also features a useful Startup menu feature which allows you to remove programs that may be slowing down your PC as part of the start-up sequence. The CleanUp tab provides additional file and program management utilities that allow you to clean junk files, programs, and other data that your system doesn't need anymore.

There's no doubt that this is a very comprehensive product - it goes way beyond just optimising your system. However, for some reason I found that however many times I optimised, the optimisation level remained "low". More importantly, I didn't notice a significant difference in the speed of my PC afterwards although this might be because I generally defrag and keep my PC in fairly good condition anyway.
